  2. Wonderful buildings and lovely photos of Berlin my friend. It takes me back to the young German students we used to have stay at our home years ago on school exchanges. One of those students was from Berlin. Such noise young boys

  5. Some great photos of your wonderful time spent in Berlin! The Checkpoint Charlie pics were cool! I remember walking through Checkpoint Charlie in 1987 after visiting an East Berlin penpal . . .

  7. I love that it is older architecture reflected on these modern glass buildings!

My dear Léia, I am sorry if I cannot update my Happy at Home blog much anymore. Though I really am happiest there, I actually spend very few hours at home, especially now as our university begins its countdown for our 150th anniversary. Starting this Saturday afternoon, we have events in the evenings and during weekends for the next three weeks! I have several 'tips' waiting for time to write them up. Ah well… Please pray for me and my entire office — for strength and good health to survive these hectic three weeks.

    ((HUGS))

  9. Gorgeous reflection. I noticed that Palos Verdes & Berlin have the same street lamp shapes 🙂 LOL!
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend exploring new places.
BTW – yes, the Swiss are amazing. They have 3 official languages but in the German speaking part, they speak Swiss-German which has many dialects & is not a written language, and then learn High-German in school. In school, they also have to take another official language (French or Italian if living in German-speaking part). But what's most amazing is that most Swiss are also fluent in English. When I worked there, my co-workers all spoke to me in English so it was hard to learn German (but I did pick up some).
    à bientôt, ma chère amie.

I have never visited Berlin but can identify with the era of the Berlin Wall and checkpoint Charlie etc. The post below this one is also interesting.
