Breedewee – Luxembourg

Breedewee or “wide path”
was part of the Roman road.
The street goes down, passing the old
gates of the city and leads steep down
into the lower suburb of Grund.

  1. What a charming old street. I also love your new header. I may have commented on it before but I can't remember.

  3. Agree with the above comment, that it must be a wonderful sound to hear ones own feet walking through such a nice street.

    Please have a wonderful Tuesday.

  4. really great picture. Isn't it amazing to be walking on streets with soooo much history.
Did you get to see the Roman city ruins (AUGUSTA RAURICA) close to Basel. They are not spectacular, but we went in early spring and you can almost imagine what it was like to be at the edge of the Empire in the cold region. The model in the museum of how the city looked was really well done too.

  5. Looks almost like Italy, lol ! No wonder it's roman ! They really have been everywhere. It's true the weather is lousy here, and the roads were a mess, but no it's better …. until the next snow ! The country is not very well organized when there are 3 snowflakes !r

  7. Very charming and so rich in history! I can almost imagine the centurions marking down this road — that must have been a (scary!) sight to see.
