  2. I'm not very fond of looking at sport usually, except from the olympics!BUT I like to see how the sportsmen and WOMEN were dressed in old times when they practised..!The real sport was to endure those clothes!!
I hope you feel better today?. Hugs from the south!

  3. This is a wonderful post! I would have loved to go through this exhibit with you. As an historian, I find these artifacts very interesting. While some things have changed a great deal, it would seem the urge or compete and national pride has not.

I, too, found the vintage posters delightful – well, except for 1936…that was not a good year considering what was in store from the mustachioed dictator!

Hope you are having a great day!

  4. Hi Leia – Re: your comment on Ocala DP – a therapy dog is a dog that has a great disposition and one who loves people…such a dog is then trained to interact with sick or hurting people to bring them joy and comfort. So dogs like Simon may visit a hospital or nursing home on a regular basis just to be with those in need.

    Have a wonderful day.

p.s. I was getting lazy with my labels so thanks for reminding me. I went back and did some fixing but I still need to do more.

  7. I am not a great sport fan, but I like this vintage material just for what is it: an important and somewhat funny memento of times long gone.

  8. The first photo is simply fantastic and it's allways a pleasure to look at the Olympic posters, the Deco compositions are gorgeous.

Thank you for your concern regarding the Madeira catastrophe. There still are many people missing and one of the major concerns are the underground car parks at the capital Funchal which have literally been filled with mud and rocks till the top entrances… but cleaning works are being done 24/7 and homeless people are being relocated so let's hope life at the island go slowly getting as 'normal' as it can be…
