Worpswede – Germany

The charming small town of Worpswede…
It has been the home to a lively artistic community
since the end of the 19th century, with over

  1. Looks like a beautiful town. And everything about it looks artistic. The buildings, the streets, the parks, the lawns. Must be a really beautiful place to live.
    Thanks for sharing.

  3. This place looks right out of a fairy-tale book: Deep in the beautiful woods, a whole variety of intriguing houses and pieces of art. I love that blue cottage with the red door, but the other houses are gorgeous, too.

    Super post!

  7. It was December, quite dark and pouring with rain when I was there, so it was so difficult to get some photos, yours are lovely! Je suis contente que ça vous ait plu, ce n'est pas étonnant que les peintres s'y soient établis, n'est-ce pas ?

  8. «Louis» wonders how this artist colony fared in WWII. He doubts that they had a particularly easy time of it.

This reminds «Louis» of Barbizon, south east of Paris.
