The stained glass is wonderful. I like to see old churches. Some in this country are old but time began here in Ohio where I live in 1848. With a church made from logs cut out of the wilderness. So the oldest churches in Ohio are not very old and rotted away.
The stained glass windows look to be from the 20th century. Are we safe in assuming that the originals were lost in one or both of the World Wars that ravaged the 20th century?
This looks very much some Catholic churches you'd find in the rural parts of southern Minnesota. It has a solid, sturdy look, while at the same time shows off many beautiful details!
And your photos are wonderful!
Thanks so much for all your comments on our blogs today! I'm going to try to send an email your way later this afternoon (hopefully, before you've “retired” for the night)!
The steeple looks beautiful against the blue sky. What an impressive entrance with those lovely wooden doors and the stained glass is breathtaking. Thanks for sharing with us all 🙂 ☼ Sunny
As I scrolled down through your pictures, I just kept saying “oh” “ah”…they just kept getting better. I love the doors and the stained glass. Beautiful!
I agree, it's a beautiful church! The design of the stained glass window looks quite modern and is surprising, considering the age of the building. I love the shiny steeple and the gorgeous metal reinforcements of the door!
A very beautiful old Church. Wonderful metalwork on the doors. Very modern stained glass windows. I do like how you've done the collage with the blurred white. Cheers, Melbourne Daily Photo
Oui, elle est belle, j'aime beaucoup la porte. Bon début de semaine !
