White blanket in Luxembourg

Heavy snowfall affected Luxembourg last night,
amounting fifteen centimeters!
Thousands of people were left totally powerless.
Many were stranded on highways
for several hours, sometimes more than eight hours.

Today all schools and also the University
are closed for the day due to weather.

All pictures by my school mate Fabio who kindly let me use here in our blog.

  1. Exactement les mêmes scènes ici… Et le même bazar. J'ai mis 4 h 40 pour rentrer chez moi hier. Mais moi au moins j'étais dans la voiture. 2 h de marche, c'est dur mais c'est beau !

  3. Looks like you guys got hit as badly as Ceil, everything's a mess. A 2 hour walk in the snow id fun, if you're prepared. Good to know you are safe and have power! The snow is beautiful!

  4. I'm sorry to hear about the power outages and the roads not being passable. Beautiful shots but that sounds very difficult.

  5. Omigod! So glad that you made it home ok. I'd say that was more than an adventure…two hours walking through that stuff. Ugh! You must be a very strong person!

And poor Cezar…hope the car will be alright.

Your friend took some excellent pictures which give insight to your words. Fresh snow always looks pretty, but too much is too much!

I hope you stayed home today and snuggled up with Luna and had some hot cocoa!

  6. Hi Leia! Re your comment on Paree…I've always heard Paris can be a winter wonderland and is very pretty during the Christmas season…but maybe the city got too much snow this year?

  7. Although it looks beautiful, it can be a mess if you are out in it or stuck as was Cezar trying to get home.

Stay at home and snuggle up with Luna… kitties are just like little heaters that purr!

  10. Always a safe step and road ahead for you all. With temperature about 20C during midday over here, a bit surreal. Miss snow and cold though very much.
Thank you for your effort of sharing these impressions. Please have you all a good Friday.

  12. Oh, dear, you each had very harrowing adventures. And yet it is so very beautiful. though I imagine it was hard to appreciate that beauty as you struggled within it.

  13. Being inconvenienced by the traffic snarls is bad enough, but losing power just adds insult to injury. Glad you two are safe and home again. Tell Fabio the photos are great!

  14. Wow! What a snowfall that was! Isn't is amazing how mother nature can still stop us in our tracks…and cars. So glad everyone made it home safely. I hope you had a nice hot toddy waiting for you once you finally made it home.

  16. Still 18 degrees here. Yep, winter wonderland can mean this as well, cold feet, long walks. Some of my colleagues near Paris actually had to sleep in their office
