  1. In french we would better say ” VAL d'Aoste”, “val” is a shorter way to say “vallée”(valley).
I crossed this valley many times and never stopped in the village! shame on me! But thanks to you, I can see how beautyful it is, and next time, I will try to stop there!

  4. Breathtaking capture as always and what a gorgeous place! I'm always so fascinated by these very old places and love to think of the Romans laying out the grid pattern! What a wonderful tour you've taken us on, as always! Hope your week is going well!

  5. I ought to have thought of that V myself considering the number of Valleys we have :-), but you have probably done a better job – a very interesting post.

  8. This is just great! Thank you again for this wonderful series of photographs. The valley reminds me a little of where our daughter lives in Colorado but your valley is much greener and more lush! Incredibly beautiful. I'd not want to leave it!

And the town…what a fine place to spend a day or two…I, too, like the idea of no cars and the ability to walk without having to worry about getting hit from behind…I find those streets and markets very enticing!

  10. It's beautiful! Thank you so much for your kind words and thoughts. My FiL was very sick, so his death was not a surprise. But it's very sad that it happened during the holidays. But we will try to make it a happy time anyway! 😀

  12. What a lovely choice for “V”. Such a charming village…but look too at the highways shooting through the valley. I would love to stroll there for a few hours and soak up all the beauty.
