  1. Parece que o templario responsável pela manutenção faz tempo que não aparece… TÁ CAINDO! mas brincadeiras a parte o valor histórico de um local desses é imenso… TEMPLÁRIOS! A Ero e as filhas fanáticas dela iriam ficar histéricas.

  2. You post inspired me to do a little research on Knights Templar and the history is humbling and fascinating! I really like their 'red cross'.

  3. When Dan Brown's books came out I also did a little research on Knights Templar to get the real story of their history.

Your photos are beautiful and capture this scene so well… I particularly like the one with the path.

Have a wonderful week, mes amis!

  4. «Louis» owns a couple of books about the Knights Templar that he hasn't read – he needs to get them out and make them next on his reading list. (He's currently reading Carlo d'Este's biography of Churchill's military career, “Warlord”.)

  5. Very interesting. I'd love to go back to Spain some day, we really enjoyed it.

  6. Another wonderful series of photos! Makes me feel like I've experienced a bit of the place while at the same time makes me want to actually go there in person.

The Knights Templar have quite a history, much of it shrouded in mystery. Amazing that this fort is still standing and in as good a shape as it is.

I think I see some graffiti on a wall in one picture. And I really get a kick of how a glass door was built into the side of a crumbling building.

The fortress seems to overlook a city (Barcelona?) … does it overlook water, too?

And I would guess there is a fee to visit the fortress, right?

Hope all is well and that you are enjoying life and it's not too rainy and snowy!

  7. It's always such an intense feeling to walk through such grand old structures…imagining life taking place on the very places you step. These are very nice photos of your journey through this fortress, Leia!

  8. I hope they are not dangerous… I'd like to post on my blog the first Templar bench, if you allow me!
