Barcelona – Spain

  1. Ah, Barcelona; cuidad magnifico!

I really like these photos. Especially the first one which is such a great night shot. I love those buildings and in the center there appears to be some kind of square where people gather. Very nice.

Barcelona must have a “thing” about statues of men on horseback! 🙂

Re your question on The Villages: The Villages is a town that was started about 35-40 years ago by a developer named Harold Schwartz. Today there are two major “towns” within The Villages: Spanish Springs and Lake Sumter Landing. Both of these have “downtown” areas with public squares where music and dancing takes place every day of the year unless the weather is bad.

I have heard recently that another “town” will be built within The Villages.

It is a huge place with something like 40,000 homes and close to 80,000 residents. Golf carts may be driven in The Villages. But, if you drive on a county or state road, your golf car must be made “street legal,” which means adding turn signals, proper lights, etc.

The place is massive and very crowded and more homes are being built as we speak.

    But it's fun to visit!

  2. Oh my, what a wonderful photos Leia! The first one is outstanding! Barcelona is a dream:)
