  1. I'm sorry this hasn't been a perfect summer for you Leia, but you still manage to find (and bring) beauty where ever you go. Will you make it back to Brazil for a visit soon?

  2. It looks a little out of place! 🙂

You would have loved the carnival in Toronto. It was not quite as good as Brazil, but still quite something! 🙂

  3. I have never understood how a carpenter can build such an onion shaped dome using wood and nails. It is some kind of miracle tat such shapes are even possible to make.

Thank you Cezar and Leia for the visit and comment about Pinky Winky.

  4. I would not have guessed that this was Luxembourg but your blog and photos have shown me much about this beautiful place. The domes are stunning and the scene looks like something out of a fairytale. Wonderful, mes amis!

  5. This structure is quite striking. I once knew the significance of the domes but I can't remember…

I do like the contrast between the rather stark white building and the brightly-colored onions!

Perhaps you'll take us inside sometime?

If this church was not built until 1982 does that mean there was an influx of Russians about that period of time? Or was there a previous Russian Orthodox Church?

And why would Russians settle in Luxembourg?

You don't have to answer all of these questions. My mind is just running off in all directions this morning. Hope you're having a great day!

  8. Very interesting post, Leia. The brilliance of the gold onion domes and the coolness and clarity of the blue onion domes pose a fascinating contrast. I see so much by following you around.
