Cathedral of Aachen – Germany

The Cathedral of Aachen is one of the most famous
examples of occidental architecture.
It is the coronation church of more than 30 German kings,
burial site of Charlemagne, major pilgrimage church
and cathedral church of the Aachen diocese since 1930.

In 1978 it was the first German building to be included in the UNESCO World Heritage list.

Sorry I haven't been around much lately, but I do think of my blog friends often.

  8. I forgot. You commented on our weather. It's been beautiful…in the 80s during the day and 60s at night (that's Fahrenheit)…it was about 86 yesterday and 64 this morning. A little warm but the cool nights help.

  10. Beautiful place. I was reading a novel, 2 weeks a go, based on a supposed Charlemagne code (like the Da Vinci code, you know). You can find it in this cathedral, and it will make you very rich. Or so they say. Anyway, fantastic church!

  11. That's a cathedral I know very well. Each time I take a friend to Aachen I show them the Aachener Dom and the grave of Charlemagne.
It's also a nice shopping town.
