Covered Market, Colmar – Alsace

Marché couvert – 1865 (French Neo-Baroque).
The city’s covered market, built in stone,
bricks and cast iron, still serves today.

  1. What a beautiful old building! I like the idea that it's still used today; Did you buy one of those lovely cats?!

  2. A very fancy marketplace. Still looks good after all those years. And a great place to shop if the weather is inclement.

    I like the little kitties!

Are you having a good day?

  3. “Früchte und Gemüse”, “Fruits and Vegetables”, “Fruits et Légumes”… a multilingual market, close to borders and different languages! These covered markets are really nice. (Unfortunately the one close to where I live was rebuilt in the 1970's and lost most of its charm.)

The surgery was to repair a new aneurysm growing on or below the old on repaired in 1996 on my descending aorta. The pain now comes from the urethra that must have been stretched or damaged in some way. I am hoping it all gets better soon as this is too painful to clean up and showers are out. I can't life 5 pounds for 14 days. Am not able to do much but set.

  6. On mahtavaa ajatella että 150 vuotta sitten ihmiset olivat täällä samoin kuin nyt nykyaikanakin.
    Hieno vanha rakennus.
    Terveisin.
