  2. Must be an interesting place to visit. Patty and I went to San Antonio, Texas one year and took a tour of all the missions around the city. The missions were the largest buildings in Texas at that time and the Indians were awestruck by their size and how cool they were inside. I was impressed by those things too. Those were made from adobe and mud and straw building material. And they were not so glamorous as your pictures are of those buildings.

  3. So majestic, beautiful, and impressive! Thank you for sharing the history link. I would not have guessed that this basilica was built so recently.

Hope you three are having a wonderful Sunday. 😉

  5. Very impressive, inside and out. Great pictures, too. It looks quite massive and I'll bet there's a lot of history in these walls. I especially like the last shot – of the dome, and I'm really intrigued as to how that guy got all the way to the top! 🙂

  6. Poor St. Martin who had a lot basilicas destroyed during wars and revolutions… This is why we have now this quite recent one! (Somehow an old romanesque tower survived – in the background.)
