  4. The nicest carnivals are in Cologne ! 7 km long carnival procession ! I used to celebrate it very much when I lived in Germany. Here is only Binche,but for me it's not a carnival.

  5. It looks like so much fun and so colorful! Love those costumes. And the drums. Must have been a lot of rum-de-dum-dum in the streets. I like the way the participants look so relaxed; like they're not so much putting on a show as having a good time.

  6. They don't really celebrate carneval here in Berlin, but I hope to go to Cologne or Dusseldorf one of these days to celebrate. The big celebrations take place on Rosenmontag, which was yesterday.

  7. Love that cake. The Germans don't seem to celebrate with as much abandon as most countries that celebrate Mardi Gras.

  9. Carnivals here in the U.S. Never seem as grand as those seen in other countries where the costumes are quite the show. In this post it was those and also dessert.
