Sanctuary of the Madonna of San Luca, Bologna – Italy

Santuario della Beata Vergine di San Luca is a basilica church in Bologna, sited atop a forested hill.

While a road now leads up to the sanctuary, it is also possible to reach it along a (3.8 km) monumental roofed arcade (Portico di San Luca) consisting of 666 arches, which was built in 1674-1793.

Ah oui…we made it! 😉
One part of the path by car and another by foot.
hey, don’t judge…we just got a heatwave there!

  2. It's a magnificent structure inside and out. And your pics are gorgeous. I especially like the one of the nuns walking through the arches. And then the views once you get there! Furthermore, I know you can put up with the heat, 'cause you just visited Florida recently! 🙂

  4. I love the sanctuary! It's a very cool color and I wouldn't want to count the arches. You got your cardio for the day.
