The city of Gutenberg, Mainz – Germany

Mainz welcomes us with this beautiful sunshine day.
 What a lovely place!

The city is famous for its university, its Roman heritage, the Rhineland carnival and as the home of the invention of the movable-type printing press, as the first books printed using movable type were manufactured in Mainz by Gutenberg in the early 1450s.
Gutenbergplatz ( Gutenberg Square).

  3. Thanks for the tour Cezar and Leia! Lots of old world charm with some funky new buildings that I didn't expect. Imagine when the first typeset works became available, the people must have been amazed.
