“Photography is a major force in explaining man to man”- Edward Steichen

I had such a great time visiting the exhibition “The Family of Man” – Edward Steichen collections – in Clervaux Castle, Luxembourg. 
The exhibition comprises 503 photographs by 273 artists from 68 countries and was created by Edward Steichen for the New York Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Today it’s permanently installed in Clervaux Castle.

About Edward Steichen (1879 – 1973) –  was a Luxembourgish American photographer, painter, and art gallery and museum curator.

  3. “Family of Man” was a hugely successful photography compendium book when I was a young man. I am pretty sure that a copy of the book is still in my bookshelves in Connecticut.
