Visiting “Cantine Maligni”, Chieti – Abruzzo

Bonjour beautiful people! Every time in Italy is a delightful experience!
Last week we visited the Cantine Maligni in Chieti.

We popped in at Cantine Maligni without appointment and were warmly welcomed by Fabio, his brother and Aramis (the dog ).

Such gentle people, we felt as if we were visiting friends… Fabio dedicated a lot of his time to show us his winery, the vines, along with captivating stories on how it all began. It’s clear that he has a real passion for what he does. He generously took us through the tasting of the wines he produces. We loved most the Maia / Pecorino (white) and Mastro / Montepulciano (red), very exquisite, velvety wines. Just wish we could have brought home a lot more :). His property is in a beautiful country location and not far from Pescara airport. Absolutely worth the visit and the tasting! Thank you all, we hope to come back some time!

  1. Oh, what fun that must have been. It is truly a beautiful place. I like the look of the accommodations, too. And those glorious vineyards. I’ll bet the wine was magnificent! You are fortunate to be able to spend some time in such a place!

We hope that all else goes well with you. We’re doing fine. It’s very hot here but that’s not unusual for a Florida summer! Take good care and have a wonderful week!

  2. Hi Wayne! Fabio explained the roses function as a warning system against two kinds of fungus that attack the vines. As the roses are more sensitive, they’ll show first any sign of the presence of the fungus, then he can take action.
