Thousand Islands, Ontario – Canada

Bonjour beautiful people!

The Thousand Islands is an international tourism destination, surrounding communities on both sides of the US and Canada border along the St. Lawrence River and the eastern shores of Lake Ontario. We enjoyed a boat trip there in a fabulous sunny day. The nature is wonderful!

The  islands range in size from over 100 km2 (40 square miles) to smaller islands occupied by a single residence, or uninhabited outcroppings of rocks. To count as one of the Thousand Islands, emergent land within the river channel must have at least one square foot (0.093 m2) of land above water level year-round, and support at least two living trees. Impressive!

I would like to share some pictures of this unforgettable place.  Hope you enjoy the tour!

Love and lights,

  1. I don’t think I’ve commented on this series yet. So, I will say that I really appreciated what you’ve done here. I’ve seen several episodes of HGTV which have focused on these waters and was always very impressed with the waterways and the islands. But your photos have brought the place to life. And I’ve seen so much more than what I saw on TV. So thank you very much! Actually, I’m extremely impressed with your photographic skills! You maybe should apply for a job as a travel photographer or sell these photos to travel magazines.
