A hill and a wine…Montepulciano, Tuscany – Italy

Bonjour beautiful people! Montepulciano is a medieval town of rare beauty in Tuscany. It is perfect for a stroll, magnificent views and some wine tasting. Montepulciano1Montepulciano2Montepulciano3Montepulciano8.1JPGMontepulciano4Montepulciano5Montepulciano7Montepulciano6Montepulciano10

After a lot of walking around the town we decided to stop by and try some free tasting and the underground visit at the Azienda Agricola Ercolani . The first impression is that the place is touristy. Indeed it is, there is always someone in front of the shop delivering leaflets and inviting people in, nonetheless it is quite good! The tasting includes several wine vintages, including some very good ones. Along with that they offered us bruschetta generously topped with home made sauces (including truffle), delicious! We bought some wine and sauces to bring home, would have taken more if there was space in the car! We did the visit to the underground part on our own, I have the impression that on occasion they do guided ones as well. Happy tasting and visit! 😉

  1. This looks like so much fun. I know you’ve visited Tuscany before and had a good time so I’m guessing you went to some new places on this trip. Again, your photos are beautiful and I appreciated very much the tour…well, not so much down in the underground! 🙂 Happy Holidays to you and your family!

  2. Such beautiful (and varied) architecture. I will most likely never see these places in person, so I really do enjoy traveling vicariously through your fantastic posts. Thanks so much for that.
