Nuremberg, in the German state of Bavaria, is famous for its medieval walls and ancient castle, gingerbread cookies, beers, Gothic churches, Nuremberg bratwurst and the Christmas market. It is a very nice city specially in a beautiful sunny day! 🙂
We visited the “Historische Felsengaenge Nuernberg” and guys…this tour is unmissable! Some hints: tickets are bought at Altstadthof brewery. Very interesting tour in English, in small group, attentive guide was passionate about the history of the place and the city. It’s great to learn about the ingenuity of people to beat the lack of technology (and fridges!), potable water, etc. Also a bit of a spooky feel when you think that the underground galleries were also used as bunker in war times… The tour takes about 1 hour and is well worth it. Be prepared for cool temperatures down there, even in summer. We bought tickets the day before, apparently there’s limited availability.
We also enjoyed the lovely Stadtpark, a non stress place! 🙂
